Terms of service
Last updated: 18 August 2026. These terms govern your use of MailToYou email hosting.
1. Who we are
MailToYou ("we", "us") provides email hosting and related services at mailtoyou.org. The service is operated by EB Holdings, trading as MailToYou. By opening an account you agree to these terms.
Our email platform is delivered in partnership with an upstream infrastructure provider. Your use of the service is also subject to that provider's acceptable use requirements, which we reflect in these terms and in our sending policy.
2. Your account
You must give us a working email address so we can reach you about renewals, incidents and security. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything done through your account. We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication.
You do not need to give us your legal name or a phone number. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.
3. Acceptable use
Our sending and acceptable use policy forms part of these terms. In summary: no bulk or marketing email of any kind, no unsolicited mail, no phishing, malware, harassment or unlawful content, and a limit of 600 outbound emails per hour per domain.
We may rate-limit, suspend or terminate accounts that breach this policy. Where it is reasonable to do so we will contact you first, but we may act immediately where there is ongoing harm, such as an account actively sending spam.
4. Fees, billing and renewal
Plans are billed in advance in US dollars for the term you select. Services renew automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date. We will notify you by email before a renewal charge.
Card payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card details. Cryptocurrency payments are processed by our payment provider at checkout and are credited once confirmed on-chain.
Non-payment may lead to suspension and, after a reasonable grace period, termination and deletion of data. We will make reasonable efforts to warn you before that happens.
5. Refunds
You may request a full refund within 30 days of your first payment for a service. Renewal payments are not refundable. Refunds of cryptocurrency payments are made in the same cryptocurrency at the exchange rate applicable when the refund is issued; we are not responsible for movements in value.
We may decline a refund where the account has breached these terms, in particular where it has been used to send bulk or unsolicited mail.
6. Storage, mailboxes and limits
Each plan states its storage allowance and, for domain plans, the maximum number of separate domains. Storage is pooled across your mailboxes and files. Mailboxes, aliases and forwarders are unlimited within your storage and domain allowances.
Storage figures cover mail and files together. If you exceed your allowance we will ask you to upgrade or reduce usage; sustained overage may result in incoming mail being rejected.
7. Data location
Mail and files are stored on our infrastructure and on that of the upstream providers we use to deliver the service. We may change hosting locations or providers as the service evolves. Where you are resident in the UK or EEA, any transfer of your data outside that area is made under appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Backups and your responsibility for your data
We take backups and will use reasonable efforts to recover your data following a failure of our infrastructure. However, you remain solely responsible for maintaining your own copies of your data.
Our backups exist to help us recover from infrastructure failure. They are not a personal archiving or file-recovery service. We do not guarantee that any particular message, file or mailbox can be restored, and we do not guarantee restoration of individually deleted items. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for loss of data.
The service uses standard IMAP, so you can download a complete local copy of your mail with any mail client at any time. If you hold data you cannot afford to lose, you must keep an independent backup of it.
9. Availability
We aim for high availability but do not promise uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance will be announced in advance where practical. We are not liable for downtime caused by matters outside our reasonable control, including upstream provider or network failures.
10. Suspension and termination
You may cancel at any time from your account or by contacting support; cancellation takes effect at the end of your paid term unless you request otherwise. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these terms, non-payment, or where required by law.
After termination we retain your data for a limited period before permanent deletion. Contact us promptly if you need an export.
11. Your content
Your mail and files remain yours. You grant us only the limited rights needed to operate the service — storing, transmitting, backing up and filtering your mail. We do not read your mail except where strictly necessary to investigate a technical fault or abuse report, or where legally required. We do not use your content for advertising or to train machine learning models.
12. Legal requests
We will respond to valid legal process from a competent authority in a jurisdiction that applies to us. We do not volunteer customer data absent such process. Where we are permitted to notify you of a request, we will.
13. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost business or lost data. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email to account holders at least 30 days in advance. Continuing to use the service after the change takes effect means you accept the new terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, and the courts of the State of Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you locally.
